Tips to make life a lot easier 

If you have already sealed an envelope and realized you forgot to put something in it, place the envelope in the freezer for a couple hours. It will pop right open so you don't have to get another envelope.

 Use Press'n Seal saran wrap to line your refrigerator shelves. When the shelves get dirty, just remove the wrap, toss in the trash and replace. No more scrubbing nasty food spills.

 Never buy dryer sheets again. Wad up a large ball of aluminum foil and toss it in your dryer along with your wet clothes. It removes static and best of all you can use the same ball over and over again. You can also soak a rag in fabric softener and hang it up to dry. Once it is dry toss it in the dryer with the rest of your clothes and reuse it until it stops smelling like fabric softener (mine lasts between 10 to 15 loads).

 Accidentally close a tab on your browser? No problem! Hit ctrl-shift-T and the page will pop up again.

 Divide and freeze soup into muffin tins. Makes perfect individual servings that you can just pop out when ever you need them. 

 Can't remember which side of the car your gas tank is on? Look at your gas gauge. Most cars have a small arrow pointing to the side that the tank is located. Having two cars, one with the tank on the left and the other with the tank on the right, I am always using this trick.

This great idea of storing bobby pins in a Tic Tac container has been floating around pinterest for a while now but did you know these Tic Tac containers could be used for so much more? Store a couple buttons, needle and thread and stash in your purse for an emergency sewing kit.Keep an empty one in your purse to store small items and keep them from getting lost (i.e. earring you lost the back to, broken necklace chain, button that fell off your blouse. Replacement screws for your eyeglasses, sunglasses. Safety pins. Small hairbands (perfect for little girls who like to pull theirs out all the time). Pill container. Spare change. Toothpicks. 

 Taking a trip? Forget about packing those huge containers of toothpaste, antibiotic ointment, shampoo, and conditioner. Just insert a small amount into a straw, cut to size and melt the ends together. This could also work for condiments such as ketchup and mustard, couch medicine, even small pills. *Note: I know that burning some plastics can cause harmful chemicals. Please do some research before trying this.

DIY:Skin Toner

MATERIALS 

2/3 cup witch hazel (can purchase at any drug store)
1/2 cup lemon juice
2 Tablespoons alcohol (for oily skin)
Combine all ingredients in a bottle and viola! Apply to face morning and night after cleansing face for tighter pores and brighter skin! *don't forget to always moisturize face after... I chose a non scented facial moisturizer because I have very sensitive skin.


Benefits:

Witch Hazel: Tightens pores and reduces inflammation.

Lemon Juice: Reduce blemishes and lightens skin.

Use facial toner both morning and night for a deeper cleanse, smaller pores and bright, radiant skin

DIY LEAVE IN CONDITONER

DIY: Leave In Conditioner 

so simple and customizable for your hair. ever buy expensive leave in conditioners again!

I am currently in the process of trying to grow my hair out. As we all know, the process to long, luscious, beauty locks isn't as easy or affordable as we would like... until now!  I saw this on a website a while ago and decided to concoct a mixture myself this summer, and so far I AM IN LOVE!

Materials:

conditioner- that's right... regular old conditioner that you use after shampooing. You will need about 3 tablespoons of any conditioner.  I chose one that works specifically against split ins, for extra coverage. 

olive oil- an essential oil, olive oil is very good for your hair to achieve healthier, shinier, and softer hair.  2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, you can replace olive oil with coconut oil if necessary. 

water- I used about 2.5 cups of water, although it can alter with the size of your bottle. If you use a little more to fill the bottle, it is ok.  

Old shampoo/conditioner bottle or Spray bottle- I revamped an old shampoo bottle by applying a pretty patterned paper (keep out of shower...store in cabinet so the paper does not get wet,) which matches my other DIY beauty items, which gives my bathroom, a organized and beautiful new look. 

Process:

       I started off by finding an old shampoo bottle and removing all labels.  I decided to revamp/decorate my bottle after the leave in conditioner concoction was added so I did not ruin the paper on the bottle.

       Since water and oil do not mix well, in a small bowl I mixed the olive oil and conditioner until it became a paste like liquid. I then poured the oil/conditioner mixture in the bottle with a funnel, scraping any that was hesitant.  

     Next, I filled the bottle up about 3/4 of the way with water and SHOOK SHOOK SHOOK.  I shook the crap out of the bottle until I thought the mixture was evenly displaced.  

   Viola! After I showered and towel dried my hair I put some of the conditioner in my hair which worked as a detangler and leave in.

Tired of stubborn eye makeup?  One of my pet peeves is going to sleep with makeup on, but sometimes eye make up is so hard to get off, especially the waterproof kind. With this DIY you will be able to have, what seems like, a lifetime supply of eye make up remover! For me, I love DIY makeup because I enjoy revamping old containers to put my new products in for a beautiful, customized and coordinated look for my bathroom!

Materials:  1 C water 
1½ TBSP Baby Shampoo (tear free) 
⅛ TSP Baby Oil (Coconut Oil or Olive Oil) If you do not have baby oil, you can use coconut or olive oil, which actually both are better for your skin if you are like me and worried about breakouts.

never buy sticky expensive hairspray again

I recently ran out of hairspray and thought that there just HAD to be some way to DIY hairspray. Lucky for me, there is!

Materials
4 tsp sugar
1 cup water
1 tb vanilla
Spray bottle

Heat water to boiling, add the sugar and vanilla. (in this case, the alcohol in the vanilla is used as a stabilizer and preservative, and the scent is a bonus! If you don't have real vanilla, DON'T use imitation, just use a 1 tb of vodka and a few drops of your favorite scented oil). 

Put the mix in a spray bottle and you are good to go! DIY hairspray on the fly!

* Perfume last longest when it is applied to hair... Why not kill two birds with one stone and apply a couple drops of your favorite scented spray.  Personally, I used to buy Victoria's Secret Pure Seduction Hair spray... not anymore! Along with vanilla, I add about 3 teaspoons of the scent. The alcohol in the spray acts as a stabilizer!

for less than one penny and who does not love DIY makeup!!!

This is a pretty neat DIY trick. It costs just a few cents (Literally, maybe 1?), and leaves a very smooth, even color that blends incredibly well!  I often find myself obsessing over finding the right rouge color for my cheecks. Being lighter skinned that tans easily, my complexion seems to change in color quite often.  I can never use a full pallet of blush before a new color trend is "in" or if I simply get bored.  With a few simple ingredients, I was able to create a whole new collection of blush compacts!  

Materials
*water
*baby powder (buy it from the dollar store.....)
*red food coloring
-1-2 drops for light pink
-3-4 drops for medium pink
-5-6 drops for red/dark pink

In a bowl, mix your desired amount of food coloring with 3 tablespoons of water. Next, squirt baby powder in, 1-2 teaspoons at a time, and mix until smooth. Continue to add baby powder until the consistency of the mix is almost that of a soft clay and it is no longer all together, but breaks up easily into several pieces. Now, using your fingers, pat the mixture into an empty make-up container (I had one already empty from an old blush) until filled.

To use: You can use it right away, but for best results, allow the mixture to air dry, then press a make-up sponge into the blush and apply to your cheekbones, blending with until smooth.

If you feel creative, try mixing in a little yellow for a peachy color or a tiny bit of blue for a bit of a purple hue.
*Note: The color of the blush is MUCH darker wet than dry, so don't be worried if it looks red when you mix it.
